Image Collections

The Roger Williams University Image Collection contains approximately 47,000 digital images for use by faculty and students for educational purposes. Managed by the Visual Resources Center (VRC) at the RWU Architecture Library, the collection is made available through Shared Shelf.  While the collection is exceptionally strong in the documentation of art and architectural history, the VRC serves all of Roger Williams University and welcomes image requests from all departments. Items in the collection include:

The Archivision Collection (Modules 1-5) contain approximately 58,000 digital images for use by faculty and students for educational purposes. Managed by the Visual Resources Center (VRC) at the RWU Architecture Library, the collection is made available through Shared Shelf. Comprised mostly of Architectural images provided by the vendor Archivision, it is exceptionally strong in the documentation of architectural history. Items in the collection include:

  • Architectural images
  • Images of gardens & parks, city skylines, cityscapes and public art as well as other design related topics

The Rhode Island Architecture Collection includes roughly 1,500 unique photographs of Rhode Island architecture, landscape and culture. Featuring work by Roger Williams University Library’s Visual Resources Center staff and affiliated photographers, the RI Image Collection may be used by Roger William University staff and students for educational purposes. Items in the collection include:

  • Unique, original photography of Rhode Island architecture, landscape and culture
