What is my library card and how do I activate it?For students, faculty and staff your library card is your RWU ID. Alumni, Bristol Residents and Friends of the Library can request a special borrower's card. You can activate your library barcode by stopping by the circulation desk at your earliest convenience. An activated card will be necessary to use many of the library's services which include HELIN Request, Interlibrary Loan, and Electronic Reserves. Faculty, students, and staff can activate their card online by completing the online form. RenewalsRenewals may be done in person or by telephone or online through View Your Library Record. Please have your library barcode ready when you are renewing. Most materials may be renewed as often as the borrower wishes unless another patron has requested the item. Items borrowed from Brown University are limited to 1 renewal. If a book is overdue or you received a bill, you will be required to bring the book in before it can be renewed. Recalling or Requesting Checked Out ItemsIf you receive a recall notice, you will have to the end of your loan period to return the item but will not be able to renew it. We request that you return all recall items at your earliest convenience. Overdue Fines & Lost ItemsPatrons are responsible for returning library materials on time and in good condition. Notices for overdue materials are sent as a courtesy and have no bearing on outstanding charges. Overdue items borrowed from other HELIN libraries may have fines and/or fees. Each library in HELIN reserves the right to charge fines and suspend borrowing privileges if their library material is not returned promptly. Patrons who have material thirty-six days past the due date will be billed $40.00 for replacement of that material. This charge will be waived if the book is returned in usable condition. Students may have their registration, grades, and/or transcripts held until the charges are resolved. It is advisable to keep receipts for all payments. |
